James Suarez knows that the best way to deliver results in our Village is to get things done for residents and small businesses. He believes leadership should be focused on listening, being accessible, and delivering real results that improve everyday life. He is committed to strengthening our neighborhoods, supporting local businesses, and making sure Village Hall is responsive and accountable to the people it serves.
Pinecrest isn’t just where he lives, it’s where so many of his memories began. After moving here from New York in 1987, he attended Palmetto Junior High and graduated from Miami Palmetto High School, Class of 1992. He always knew that when it came time to start a family, he wanted it to be here. Today, his wife and James are raising their three daughters in the same community and public schools that shaped his life, and he is grateful they are building their own memories here.
Pinecrest has also been a wonderful place for his parents to enjoy their retirement, and he intends for it to be that same kind of home for his family, where he and his wife can one day enjoy their retirement.
James Suarez attended Miami Palmetto Senior High School, where he built the foundation for his lifelong commitment to education, leadership, and community involvement. After graduating, he continued his studies at Florida International University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, cum laude.
He later pursued his legal education at The George Washington University Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1999. That same year, he was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida, launching a legal career focused on advocacy, public service, and strengthening the community he has long called home.
James Suarez has brought that same work ethic to his service on the Pinecrest Zoning Board, the Joint Education Action Committee, and with local nonprofits, showing up prepared, doing the homework, and working to move our community forward. He believe leadership starts with listening, understanding the needs of residents, and taking thoughtful action that delivers real results. Whether it’s protecting the character of our neighborhoods, supporting our schools, improving quality of life, or planning responsibly for the future, he is committed to serving Pinecrest with integrity, transparency, and a strong sense of responsibility. Every role he has taken on has been rooted in a desire to give back to the community that has given so much to him, and he will continue working every day to help build an even stronger future for Pinecrest.
